Pitbull Tattoos

Although many pitbull tattoos feature this animal in a depiction that shows the aggressive and ferocious traits that this breed is known for, many people get this style of art to show their love for this often misunderstood beast.
Many pitbull tattoos feature only the head, face and occasionally shoulders of this dog. This style can range from a cute tattoo cartoon image to a fierce creature baring its sharp teeth. Deer Tattoos

Some deer tattoos depict this animal in one of its many mythic incarnations. Elephant Tattoos

These generally exaggerate features such as the trunk, ears and tusks. The more realistic versions show the elephant in great detail, often showing every line in its thick skin. Tiki Tattoos

Many people like their tiki tattoos to feature the beautiful, well carved totems in their most recognizable, wooden form. Kane Milohai and the god of the sea Kanaloa are often paired together in art, and thus can be used in many tiki tattoos to represent the wild forces of the sea, and the taming powers of nature.
Some people prefer to create tiki tattoos that appear in a totem style. These often feature different tiki masks with gods that signify different emotions and powers. For instance, you could place the mask of Hina (the goddess of love) atop the mask of Haumea (the goddess of fertility). Anchor Tattoos

Anchor tattoos are most often associated with sailors, the anchor being a symbol of both protection and a certain amount of accomplishment. However, anchor tattoos can also be a representation of a steadfast personality, or a symbol of a person trying to keep steady in a rocky situation.
Most anchor tattoos feature a variety of symbols, the anchor itself being the emblem that keeps everything else in place. People frequently use other maritime images such as compasses, ropes and wheels. Banners featuring names, dates or quotes are also quite common. Many people also get anchor tattoos with something wrapped around the shank of the anchor, or surrounding the band, placed near the bottom, or along the palms. You can even place a crown around the top, or dangling from the stock.
Many people prefer their anchor tattoos to be simple. These designs are often shown by themselves; however, if they do show other items, they are usually small, and are only meant to enhance the main theme of the anchor. One of the most frequently used versions of this design shows the anchor in outline. These are usually done with a vague black line that fades in the middle, showing the details inside. Sometimes, though, this image is done in stark black lines, and only show the outline. Another idea is to use a filled-in version of the outline style, and create a thick, black anchor. Nature Tattoos

Seahorse Tattoos

The dilemma that many people face when searching for seahorse tattoos is choosing the right style. It is not uncommon to see seahorse tattoos that incorporate other symbols. One of the more popular depictions is the image of two seahorses melding together into the shape of a tattoos-and-art.com/heart-tattoos”>heart. Another favored image is the jagged lower body of the seahorse bursting into tattoos-and-art.com/fire-tattoos”>flame. For a tougher and more unique depiction, you could curve the body into the pointed shape of a shuriken.
Although there are many inventive ideas that can be used for seahorse tattoos, many people still prefer a simple, refined black outline. However you choose to design this image, though, you are certain to grab some positive attention.

Sea Turtle Tattoos

Many sea turtle tattoos feature this creature in a simple manner. They are generally rather small, and show a realistic picture of one of the seven living species. In this version, they may occasionally be shown swimming in a gush of water, or floating above an tattoos-and-art.com/ocean-tattoos”>ocean floor. An interesting twist would be to show the the green sea turtle surrounded by coral and rocks, all in varying shades of blue, so as to give the appearance of being lit under deep, dark waters.
Sea turtle tattoos often show intricate details on the shell. These designs may show the sea turtle as a whole, or the shell by itself. For example, one may create an oval over a large area of the body that has small, whorling tiles in shades of green, brown or even yellow. They may also feature bolder colors, gems, or metallic shades. You can also create a mosaic design that shows other symbols, such as tattoos-and-art.com/star-tattoos”>stars or the tattoos-and-art.com/sun-tattoos”>sun, or the open blossom of a tattoos-and-art.com/flower-tattoos”>flower. To continue with a more nautical theme, you could also etch the image of a compass rose into the back of your sea turtle.
Some people prefer sea turtle tattoos that feature a larger variety of images, or an unusual depiction. tattoos-and-art.com/hawaiian-tattoos”>Hawaiian and tattoos-and-art.com/tribal-tattoos”>tribal turtles are two great examples of the former. These two styles are very similar in the fact that they are both usually done in black, show an almost realistic outline of the turtle, and both have intricate patterns cut into the otherwise monotone image. Rather than showing bare skin, you could add splashes of color into the cut out portions, or create an array of orchids and tillandsia plants in the center of its back.
Sea turtles spend the majority of their lives under water, and only surface for a quick burst of air. This image appeals to many people, as it tends to represent not only a certain amount of safety, but mystery as well.
